Dr. Md. Sultan Sarwar Parvez graduated (MBBS) from Jahurul Islam Medical College under Dhaka University and obtained his Master’s degree (MS) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery from the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD). He got a fellowship from the American College of Surgeons (USA) and a prestigious degree (MRCPS) from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, UK.
Before joining Square Hospital, he worked as a Junior Consultant at Lab Aid Cardiac Hospital and Ibn Sina Cardiac Center, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Then he was appointed to the Department of Cardio-Vascular Surgery of Square Hospital in Dec’2016 and he has worked as an Associate Consultant in the Cardiac Surgery department. He has a keen interest in MICS and Robotic Cardiac Surgery.
Dr. Parvez has 18 years of experience and skills to perform a wide range of cardiac surgeries like Beating heart coronary artery bypass surgery (OPCAB), Conventional CABG, Valve Replacement surgery, Combined surgical procedure like CABG with valve replacement, surgical closure of ASD and VSD, PDA ligation, Cardiac tumors like LA Myxoma, Thymic tumor, coronary artery fistula repair, unroofing of myocardial bridge and other cardiac surgical procedures.
He introduced and performed the VenaSeal closure procedure, the modern varicose vein treatment worldwide, and the RFA procedure. He also manages vascular diseases like Peripheral vascular diseases, Deep vein Thrombosis, Varicose leg Ulcers, Varicose veins, Spider veins, Vascular tumors, etc.
He is also skilled in creating various types of Arterio-Venous fistula for dialysis in CKD patients.
Dr. Parvez has published many articles in different national and international journals. He is a member of the Cardiac Surgeon’s Society of Bangladesh (CSSB), and the Bangladesh Association of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons (BACVTS). He is also a member of BMA, EACTS, and MACS.
