Prof. (Brig. Gen.) Mozibul Haque (Retd) is a dedicated and accomplished Cardiac Anesthesiologist with extensive expertise in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, acquired both domestically and internationally. He graduated with an MBBS from Rajshahi Medical College in 1986 and subsequently joined the prestigious Army Medical Corps, where he completed specialized training in Emergency War Surgery (Biological & Nuclear Warfare) conducted by the U.S. Army Special Forces in Washington. Prof. Haque earned a Diploma in Anesthesiology (Graded Specialist) in 1993, followed by an FCPS in 1998. He obtained a fellowship in Cardiac Anesthesia at the Prince Sultan Cardiac Center (PSCC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in 2001. To further his anesthesia expertise, he obtained a Diploma in Echocardiography in 2018 from the Medical University of Vienna, accredited by the European Society of Echocardiography.
Throughout his distinguished career, Brig. Gen. Haque has served as an Anesthesiologist and Intensivist at United Nations hospitals in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Ivory Coast. He has held prominent positions, including Head of the Department of Anesthesiology at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) and Combined Military Hospital(CMH) in Dhaka. In addition to his remarkable professional accomplishment, he held the esteemed title of the President of the Technical Sub-Committee at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dhaka. Prof. Haque is a faculty member and examiner at several prestigious institutions, including the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).
Prof. Haque has a particular interest in Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE) and Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in Anesthesia and Critical Care. His impressive breadth of expertise includes TEE, Regional Anesthesia, POCUS, and Cardiac Anesthesia. As an avid researcher, he has published more than 40 novel works, review articles, and case reports in various national and international medical journals.
