Dr. S. M. Anwar Sadat passed Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Dental Unit of Chittagong Medical College under Chittagong University in 1997. He passed MCPS in Dental Surgery from BCPS in 2003; FCPS in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery FIRST TIME in Bangladesh from BCPS in 2005. He also did his masters (MS) in same discipline from Dhaka Dental College under Dhaka University in 2009.
Recently in 2021, Dr. Anwar Sadat has been awarded FDSRCPS from Glasgow, United Kingdom for his excellent academic, research and clinical contribution to the dentistry of Bangladesh.
He got advanced training in oral cancer surgery and reconstruction from University of Peradeniya, Kandy, Sri Lanka as JICA Fellowship (Japan); Dental Implant from Boston, USA; Aesthetic Jaw Surgery from Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; Cancer and Trauma Reconstruction from Peking University, China.
He had been serving patients of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery for the last 23 years in different Government and non-government hospitals of Bangladesh. Along with the general dental treatment like Extraction of teeth, scaling, polishing, filling, root canal treatment, crown bridge prosthesis, he has special interest on treating oral cancer, oral ulcer, facial trauma and missing tooth by placement of DENTAL IMPLANT.
He is related to extensive academic activity with delivering lectures, conducting clinical sessions for doctors, research activity on oral ulcer and oral cancer and health related talk in Televisions and social medias. With his credit, he presented more than 100 presentations in conferences and workshops and also published 59 scientific articles in reputed national and international scientific journals.
Dr. Sadat is Member Secretary, Faculty of Dentistry, BCPS. He is editorial board member of BCPS Journal, advisor of Update Dental College Journal, member of IT, CPD, RTMD, Question Bank, Curriculum development, Skill development and Medical Education Department of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS). He used to conduct ICT Training in BCPS and Research Methodology Training in BCPS and other organizations. He has contribution to curriculum development of courses of dental specialities and he is the question setter, moderator and examiner of MCPS in Dental Surgery and FCPS in oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
At present he is working in the department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dhaka Dental College in the morning and as Consultant at Square Hospitals Ltd, Dhaka in the evening.
